The Associated Press has elected it will not capitalize the “w” in white when used in a racial, ethnic or cultural sense, Poynter reported.

The question came up when the media venue determined it would place an initial cap on the “b” in Black, a gesture initiated by civic action taken during the Black Lives Matter, BLM, movement.

Shouldn’t ethnic references be universal?
